Heritage
Shri Bade Hanuman Mandir, also known as Lete Hue Hanuman Ji Mandir, is one of the most sacred shrines of Lord Hanuman in Prayagraj. The temple is uniquely revered for its colossal reclining form of Hanuman Ji, lying near the holy Triveni Sangam — the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati. According to tradition, this sacred form has been a source of strength, protection, and devotion for generations of pilgrims. Devotees believe that darshan of the reclining Hanuman Ji removes fear, grants courage, and fulfils sincere prayers. The temple’s spiritual significance grows manifold during Magh Mela and Kumbh Mela, when millions gather at Sangam and seek blessings here. The sanctum is adorned daily with sindoor, silver ornaments, marigold garlands, and offerings of fruits and flowers. Morning and evening aartis fill the temple with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and Hanuman Chalisa, creating an atmosphere of deep devotion. Today, Shri Bade Hanuman Mandir continues to welcome devotees from across India and the world — a living centre of faith beside the eternal Sangam.
